How do you send a parcel by courier in Pointe-Noire?
With Kotinda, a courier collects your parcel from one address and delivers it to another, within Pointe-Noire, right away. You follow the route live, and the parcel is only handed over to the person who gives the right code.
Kotinda is Résidence Feuille's delivery service, in early access in Pointe-Noire: it delivers meals from partner restaurants, and now also parcels and goods from one address to another.
What are the steps for sending a parcel?
Sending a parcel takes six steps, from sender to recipient:
- Enter both addresses in the Kotinda app: where the courier picks up the parcel, where it is delivered, and the size of the parcel.
- Choose who pays: the sender at pickup, or the recipient on delivery.
- Pass on the code: you receive a 4-digit handover code to send to the recipient.
- The courier collects the parcel from the pickup address, right away.
- Follow the route live on the map. Need to talk to the courier? Call them from the app, without sharing numbers.
- Handover against the code: the recipient gives the 4-digit code, and the courier hands over the parcel.
How much does it cost to send a parcel?
Sending a parcel costs 1 000 F up to 3 km, then 200 F per started kilometre: the same rate as a meal delivery.
| Trip distance | Price |
|---|---|
| 2 km | 1 000 F |
| 3.1 km | 1 200 F |
| 7 km | 1 800 F |
This is an estimate: the exact price depends on the actual route, calculated by the app. Full pricing details.
Who pays, and how?
As you prefer, either the sender pays at pickup or the recipient pays on delivery, in cash or by Mobile Money. Nothing to pay online in advance.
How can I be sure the parcel reaches the right person?
Thanks to the handover code: every parcel has a 4-digit code, which the sender passes on to the recipient. The courier only hands over the parcel to the person who gives the right code.
- Live tracking: you see where the courier is on the map, from departure to arrival.
- Calls without numbers: you call the courier from the app, and neither of you sees the other's number.
What if the recipient doesn't have the code?
The courier keeps the parcel: they only hand it over to the person who gives the right code. So pass the code on to the recipient as soon as you receive it, by message or by phone.
What size of parcel can I send?
The vehicle depends on the size of the parcel: small and medium parcels go by motorbike, large ones by car.
| Size | Example | Vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| Small | Envelope, bag | Motorbike |
| Medium | Box | Motorbike |
| Large | Anything that won't fit on a motorbike | Car |
